DAY 10 EUROPE TRIP
EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CRUISE - Day at Sea
It is always nice to have a sea day to get to know the ship, the activities on board and to relax. It is 825 nautical miles to Santorini. The sea is very still – like a glass plate except for the wake.
You can’t feel any motion. The ship is cruising at about 24 knots. Looking out the window it feels as if it is travelling fast. We passed through Messina Strait and saw Messina on our starboard side and Reggio di Calabria on our port side. Lovely views.
Our off shore tours are organised so we spent the day relaxing. It was formal night tonight so everyone dressed up. The Captain’s Welcome Toast was a very entertaining presentation by the Captain Dimitris Kaftezid. He really has a good sense of humour. Following this we saw an enjoyable show – “Ghost Light: The Spirit of Broadway”. It was entertaining and covered a wide range of popular broadway shows. After the show we went to the Gala Dance Party for a while to dance to the lovely music of Headlines: Dance Band.
