JINDABYNE - BUNGENDORE (273km)
There is something special about going to the tip of Australia - Cape York. A place that has a history going back at least 40,000 years. The place where back in history people made their way fro Papua New Guinea to Australia across the dry land during the last ice age. From its base in Normanton to the tip is 750 km and 600 km wide. On one side is the Great Barrier Reef, on the other the Gulf of Carpentaria. But so far away.
With great excitement we set off on this new adventure. We will be travelling with three friends in two other cars. We left Jindabyne in the afternoon and went via Canberra to Bungendore to Žydre and Bob's place, two of our traveling companions, for the night. There was lots of talking before resting for the trip.
