DAY 21 EUROPE TRIP
ROME - VILNIUS
What a day!
Today was a very long and tiring day. We had an early 6.00am start in order to catch the free shuttle bus to the airport. About half and hour before our flight to Vilnius via Frankfurt our flight was delayed and they started to reschedule flights for passengers with connecting flights. Chaos supreme! They were only interested in passengers with connecting flights to USA. Eventually they told us that they would sort out any connecting flight problems for us in Frankfurt. We received a free lunch of a bacon sandwich and a drink. The sandwich was very dry and unappetising. Finally in the afternoon our flight took off. We made our connecting flight and in the early evening arrived in Vilnius. It was strange flying to another country and not going through any customs or immigration checks as we had flown in from another EU country. We were made very welcome by my brother-in-laws cousin and taken to their beautiful home in Grikiškes. We met the three generations living there and spent the evening either catching up or getting to know one another.
